Responsible for monitoring inventory and costs to insure the smooth and efficient operations of the campus kitchens and department.
Assists with generating bid documents, compiling product information, maintaining procurement files and communicating orders and requests to all vendors.
Assists with product sampling and marketing activities as needed.
INTERACTION WITH DISTRICT STAFF AND COMMUNITY Demonstrates openness and willingness to improve the effectiveness of department operations.
Assists and supports the efforts of all Student Nutrition staff with a positive attitude.
Communicates a positive image of the department.
Encourages positive morale among staff and promotes team effort within each campus and within the department.
Maintains positive working relationships with all district staff, vendors, and the community.
PURCHASING Performs all functions related to bids and purchasing for the department and maintains all files related to purchasing, sampling, bids, and quotes.
Obtains and studies comparative prices and quotations.
Creates and maintains bid ordering calendar including lead time for special orders.
Initiates and maintains communication with vendors regards to supplies, product availability, delivery, purchase orders, and contracts; resolves procurement and delivery problems when they arise.
Tabulates and routes all weekly orders for food and non-food supplies.
Obtains necessary quotes for all food and supplies.
Maintains files as per procurement regulations and laws.
Updates order guides to include catering and concessions on a monthly basis including new items and pricing Assists with budget development as needed.
SOFTWARE Maintains software catalog to ensure all ingredients are entered correctly; inactivates ingredients as necessary.
Responsible for new product tracking.
Revises and maintains purchasing lists in software.
Revises and maintains inventory hierarchy in software.
Ensures that a price is determined before the order for new items is placed.
WAREHOUSING Maintains warehouse inventory, ordering products needed on a just-in-time basis.
Implements forecasting tool for warehouse inventory.
Creates purchase orders for all warehouse inventory.
Acquires commodity value of processed commodities monthly; tracks and verifies commodity purchases.
Coordinates with warehouseman to conduct a physical inventory as needed.
Provides orders to warehouseman for daily deliveries.
Reconciles warehouse inventory, submits inventory and adjustment report to the Assistant Director.
Coordinates and schedules warehouse deliveries.
Provides all purchase orders to Accounting Specialist.
Tracks maintenance expenses and inventory of equipment for all campuses.
Tracks all assets for the Student Nutrition Department and ensures all items are tagged appropriately.
OFFICE SUPPLIES Maintains inventory of office supplies.
Orders office supplies as needed.
Fills staff requests on an ongoing basis.
Maintains inventory of printer cartridges needed by each school.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Assumes responsibility for enhancing personal skills and competencies through staff development, continuing education, etc.
Initiates procedures to modify performance, as necessary, based on self-analysis and feedback.
MISCELLANEOUS Provides back-up coverage for office staff as needed.
Assists in the campus kitchens during emergency situations.
Assists with catered functions as needed.
